Asafa is national 100m champion after sub-10 clocking

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Asafa Powell added another sub-10 clocking to his list to win the 100m final at the National Senior Championships here on Friday.

Powell’s 9.84-second run was only one of four sub-10 clockings in the race that had the spectators cheering along.

Nickel Ashmeade finished in 9.91 seconds ahead of Kemar Bailey-Cole, who finished in a time of 9.97 seconds. While Nesta Carter clocked 9.98 seconds to finish fourth.
