ASAFA Powell hoping for no injuries
POWELL HOPING FOR UNINTERRUPTED SEASON
Athletics – Asafa Powell will have his fingers crossed this season that he stays healthy enough to finally shed the label of “best sprinter never to win at a major meet”.
The former 100m world record-holder has gone under 10 seconds more than anyone in history, including fellow Jamaican and running superstar Usain Bolt.
But health has always held Powell back. It seems he’s always dealing with a balky hamstring or nagging groin ailment, like the one that caused him to pull up in the 100 at the London Games last summer.
